15 high school journalists chosen for TCU Journalism Workshop Fifteen outstanding high school journalists participated in the TCU Journalism Workshop, formerly the Urban Journalism Workshop, this summer. The workshop, which ran from May 29 through June 8, was hosted by TCU, with funding from the Fort Worth Star-Telegram and the Dow Jones Newspaper Fund. Student journalists who attended were Melissa Ayala, Nelson Oribhabor, and Stephanie Stratton. South Grand Prairie High School; Kristen Diou, Arlington, Martin High School; Ashley Frank, Mansfield, Oakridge School; LyTer Green, Everman High School; Katherine Kemmerly, Metairie, La., Academy of the Sacred Heart; Megan Malone, Azle High School; Monja Memic, Fort Worth Southwest High School; Kam Phillips, Fort Worth Paschal High School; Jesse Placencia and Eric Pointer, Fort Worth Southwest High School; Jasmin Salas, Fort Worth Trimble Technical High School; Breanne Sigler, Oak Grove, Mo., St. Teresa’s Academy; and Rebecca Walker, Arlington High School. The workshop director is Bitsy Faulk of the TCU Daily Skiff staff. Faculty included Scott Nishimura, Eva-Marie Ayala, Jessamy Brown and Larry Lutz of the Star-Telegram and Vicki Whistler of the Skiff staff.
