Student wins prestigious fellowship

Rashi Vats, broadcast journalism major, is working this summer as an International Radio and Television Summer Fellow.

Vats, one of 25 fellows chosen from among 450 applicants in a national competition, interned at CBS News in London during the spring semester of 2007. 

The IRTS fellowship experience is a nine-week paid summer program in New York City that includes a comprehensive one-week orientation to broadcasting, cable, advertising, and online media.  Each Fellow is assigned to a particular company where he or she interns for eight weeks.  Vats is interning on the national desk of CBS Evening News.
