Three student journalists are among 13 North Texas student journalists selected to receive 2007 scholarships from the Fort Worth chapter of Society of Professional Journalists.

TCU Daily Skiff opinion editor Lindsey Bever of Fort Worth, also a recipient last year as editor of the Tarrant County College Collegian, won a $1,000 Dona Darovich Scholarship. Image magazine managing editor Kathleen Thurber of Colorado Springs, Colo., has received a $500 Texas Gridiron Scholarship. Daily Skiff news and sports reporter Michelle Nicoud of Dallas also received a $500 Texas Gridiron Scholarship.

Bever, Thurber and Nicoud will be recognized as award winners at the SPJ chapter’s 2007 First Amendment Awards Dinner Friday, April 13 at Chacharel in Arlington.
